Man and Van Statistics

Did you know that the average man with a van is 37? Apparently most drivers who drive white vans are in their thirties or forties. There are also some female van drivers taking to the roads, but these are currently in a vast minority. Only 4% of white van drivers are women. You may think you know all there is to know about van drivers but you’d be surprised how much of that is founded on a stereotypical image, speculation rather than fact. These statistics coming up are not meant to be the last word on van drivers, they merely represent findings from a relatively small sample of van drivers. Don’t take them as fact, take them as interesting avenues of information, a very general overview. The majority of the man with van population – that’s around 75%- don’t stray too far from home. Their business is usually local and as well as happens in urban environments. He knows the local roads and streets better than some taxi drivers. For the majority of drivers, the van is his tool of trade. Courier vans account for only 22% of all vans on the road. The typical driver is usually a service engineer, a roofer, a picture framer or a removals man.
